    DescriptionThe QNAP TR-004 is a 4-bay direct-attached storage (DAS) RAID enclosure that connects via a single USB Type-C port (USB 3.0 / USB 3.2 Gen 1, 5 Gbps). It supports four 3.5" or 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD (6Gb/s and 3Gb/s), hardware RAID (RAID 0, 1, 5, 10), JBOD and individual-disk modes, and can be used as external storage for Windows, macOS, Linux and as expansion for QNAP NAS systems. The unit features tool-less trays for 3.5" drives, mounting holes for 2.5" drives, front drive locks plus a rear Kensington slot, an onboard RAID mode switch and one-touch copy/eject controls. Includes AC power adapter, power cord, USB Type-C to Type-A cable, drive tray keys and mounting screws.

    Notes / LimitationsWhen used with certain older QNAP NAS models that cannot be updated to QTS 4.3.6 or later, functionality is limited or not supported. When connected to a NAS, the TR-004 can only be used as an individual storage pool/volume and cannot combine its storage pool into the connected NAS; NAS apps cannot be installed on the TR-004. Drives can only be migrated between TR-004 units; files on drives moved to/from a NAS may not be recognized. RAID 6 is not supported on the hardware.
